A baluster is a moulded shaft, square or circular, in stone or wood and sometimes in metal, supporting the coping of a parapet or the handrail of a staircase, an assemblage of them being known as a "balustrade". In this section you will find salvaged turned and plain balustrades, including lose staircase spindles, panelled or pierced balustrades (often used for internal balcony fronts or room dividers, and many from churches and gothic in style), iron balustrades, including balcony or gallery fronts and railings, staircases and rising balustrades, wooden hand rail, brass hand rail and communion rails.
